Marching.com celebrating milestone season

The idea took off immediately. When Ken Martinson founded Marching.com in March 1996, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Band directors, music students, booster parents, event coordinators and related businesses began bookmarking the site that quickly became an authoritative source of marching information. Marching.com 15th Season The growth has continued steadily over the past 14 seasons. In 2009 Marching.com served more than 600,000 unique visitors. The site extends a positive voice across a broad array of content that now includes events, links, resources, news and photos. Coverage encompasses marching activities from coast to coast and around the world.

Jubal & Majestic join forces

Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps from Dordrecht (The Netherlands) has found a new partner for their percussion section. Majestic Instruments from the town of Nijehaske in Friesland will provide their ‘state of the art’ fielddrums and front ensemble instruments for the corps for the upcoming years. This means that Jubal will say goodbye to their long-time relationship and collaboration with Dynasty. At the conclusion of the Musik Messe in Frankfurt (Germany) the last details were discussed with Peter Vulperhorst, managing diretor for Majestic, and the agreement was sealed.

Edinburgh Tattoo celebrates 60th anniversary

2010 marks the Diamond Jubilee Year of Edinburgh's celebrated Royal Military Tattoo which will take place over the period 6-28 August with performances on Monday to Friday at 9.00pm and on Saturday at 7.30pm and 10.30pm. Against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, the world's most spectacular Tattoo will host a celebration of talent from four continents including pipers, gymnasts, singers, dancers and an amazing motorcycle display team. The emphasis is again very much on music with the event expected to delight an international crowd with its rich variety.

Top Secret at Dutch Military Tattoo 2010

One of the participating bands at the Dutch Military Tattoo 2010 (September 29th – October 3rd) will be the famous percussion group “Top Secret” from Switserland. The Dutch tattoo will be set in a theme about “Royal Military Music” and “65 years of Liberation” Other participants will be the Orchestra of the Guardia Real (Spain) and the Scots College Pipes & Drums with the OzScot Dancers (Australia). Dutch participating bands will be the Marines Band of the Dutch Royal Navy, Royal Military Band “Johan Willem Friso”, Band of the Dutch Royal Airforce, Band of the National Reserves and others. Biggest CGN webcast ever planned

CGN (Color Guard Netherlands) has big plans for the webcast this coming weekend. Big plans, but everything depends on the internet connection. As they did last year, they will provide an audio and video stream, with photos and scores in real time. This year there will also be backstage footage as also a Twitter page where you can follow the good luck wishes from those who are using Twitter live from Eindhoven. There will be 6 people working from early Saturday morning until late in the evening when everything is over. A broadcast of this quality is expensive. Therefore CGN will put a request and a link on the webcast site asking viewers for a small donation.
