WAMSB 2012 hosted by Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede announced that the Stampede's Visiting Bands committee has been sanctioned to host the 2012 World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB) World Championship. The call is now going out to show bands around the world to attend this prestigious event in 2012 which will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede, dubbed the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

Unik Star France @ IPE Championships UK

On Sunday, April 4th, Percussion Ensemble Unik Star France will compete at the Indoor Percussion Europe Finals in Crawley, United Kingdom. After years of competition at the Indoor Percussion Netherlands, Unik Star is going for the International Finals this year 2010. Unik star shows a big Field Percussion Line-up. The Field Percussion will show 7 Snares, 4 Sixtets and 5 Multiple Bassdrums. The Percussion Ensemble comes out with their performance in the International Marching Class Prelims that starts at 10:35 in the K2 Leisure Center in Crawley, UK.

German Open 2010 become DCE Certified Show

The German Open will become a DCE Certified Show. The organisers of the event and Drum Corps Europe have come to an agreement on this. The event will be held in the Weserbergland Stadium in Hameln. The event organisers (Starriders and 'Musikverband Schaumburg/Weser') strongly believe that, with the DCE judging team and the DCE Competition Manual, the future of the German Open is secured: "With the DCE system in place, we can offer corps that enter the DCN and DCE competitions in September the same judging experience in Hameln."

Adest Musica performs anthems with The Netherlands - Ghana

On Tuesday, the 1st of June, Drum- & Showband Adest Musica will perform the national anthems of The Netherlands and Ghana prior to the friendly soccer match between those two countries. The match will be played in the famous stadium “De Kuip” in Rotterdam and is one of the last matches before the Dutch team leaves to South-Africa to participate in the World Championship.
